Abraham Lincoln transformed into the United States sixteenth President in 1861, issuing the Emancipation Proclamation that announced constantly free those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863. On Good Friday, April 14, 1865, Lincoln was killed at Ford's Theater in Washington by John Wilkes Booth, an on-screen character, who by some methods thought he was helping the South.
