You are
required to prepare a report on the financial performance of Tesco Plc for the
year ended 29 February 2020. The two statements that you are interested in are
the Group Income Statement and The Group Balance Sheet. In preparing your
report, you should deal with the following:
1.
Calculate the ratios that you believe are important to show the financial
performance of Tesco Plc. Ratios should be calculated in full in the appendix
of your report and a summary of findings of the ratios should be presented in
the main body of the report.
2.
Using the ratios calculated, apply them to the performance of Tesco Plc
and discuss their meanings and implications for Tesco.
3.
Select a competitor in the Supermarket Industry and calculate a number of
key ratios for that competitor and compare Tesco’s performance with that of the
Competitor.
