Criteria for written work and assignments: All written assignments should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font. All written assignments should be double-space. It is not necessary to go over the required number of pages for each assignment. It is important that you proofread your work and check for spelling and grammatical errors. Written assignments with spelling errors can compromise your grade. All assignments must be handed in by the due date; otherwise, two percentage points (2% out of a possible 100%) will be deducted daily (including weekends) for being late. Please note that any assignments not handed in on the due date are considered late.

Reaction Paper:
The reaction paper is due in Week 6 (this week). It will be two (2) pages in length and is worth 15% of
your overall grade. This paper is an opportunity for you to provide your ideas, insights and critique to
one or two main points or themes gained from a reading. It is important that you identify the author and
title of the reading and develop your own ideas about the reading you have chosen. Please note that
this is not a summary or description of the reading. Rather, you will provide an analysis and discussion of
a point that speaks to you or interests you. For example, you may want to answer why you find these
points or themes interesting. In your analysis, be sure to discuss in detail the relationship/importance to
Aboriginal education. Your paper must show evidence of critical thinking. This assignment is your chance
to have an in-depth discussion about and provide your own insights on Aboriginal education. Please do
