Provide examples applying these different types of memories and their neural bases to everyday life and to disease states. Stress is an important physiological process that enables our bodies to mobilize resources to promote survival. Chronic stress, however, can be very harmful to health and leads to long-‐term, pathological changes. Describe the physiology of the stress response: include the various stages and what physiological processes occur during each stage and how these changes are beneficial for dealing with a stressor. Include how chronic stress impacts overall health and how this is an extension of the beneficial things that the acute stress response does.
