Student course assignment is a genuine problem at many universities, including Georgia Tech. This project is about specifying a software system that aims at (i) helping students answer ’what if’ questions concerning their future enrollment, (ii) helping administrators make rational, early decisions concerning student-class matching, especially in consideration of available resources available to compensate professors and teaching assistants and available workforce and (iii) propose final enrollment profiles for registration. The success of the operation relies on the assumption that students and administrators will operate more efficiently with such a system in place and students will be able to ’self-regulate’ their demand according to the enrollment figures (eg probability of being admitted) provided to them via an interactive system, thus limiting administrator intervention to the bare minimum.
