1) “Establishing a partnership between schools and the outside community, particularly parents has been considered by many as a valuable relationship in the educational journey of the child.” What are your thoughts about such a statement?
2) “Parent involvement in the education of the child was meant to bring about a paradigm shift in school-parent joint-working, and the cultural mind-set of how schools perceive and understand such a collaborative endeavour.” Mention some challenges which a school can be faced with when adopting such a ‘cultural mind-set’ of involving/engaging parents.
3) Choose one finding presented in this paper (from the section Findings and Discussion) and discuss how you can relate to or how you witness it in your everyday practice at work.
