Poor maintenance of facilities and equipment

Every time I travel, I always check first if the resort/ hotel that I am planning to book have good reviews from their guests (a big thanks to Tripadvisor!). Even if it does have some bad comments from a guest, I'm expecting that these resorts/ hotels may have heeded their guest's clamor and they already improved whatever awful reviews they'd received since customer is always right, to some extent. Anchored resort got bad reviews from their guests but despite of these, I still chose it because of their availability on peak day and I'm on a tight budget.

 

Now that I experienced it myself, I can attest that the comments were true. The pool is not well maintained. It was dirty and has high chlorine solution that I cannot even open my eyes when I submerged myself in it, plus the itchiness I felt afterward. They don't even have generator for their guests! How did I know? Well, the day of my visit, May 1, 2019, the area got electricity blackout. It is a standard in every resort that have room accommodations to have this equipment in case of a power failure but they don't have it. After about 2 hours, the electricity got back though...(now this is why I still swam in the pool despite my comment, just to cool off!)

 

Now here is the worst part of my trip...even though electricity was back, the aircon in our room was defective! Now imagine, me and my wife managed to sleep without proper ventilation in the room. It was the worst night of my life ever! Though they sent us an electric fan, it still didn't worked out for us to have a good night sleep. By the way, we have refrigerator in our room but is not also working. I should've booked for their fan room instead of a standard room since we did not felt the cold aircon, and this I can testify. When I asked the administrator to give us another room, they just offered to give us another electric fan...no other option for us. How pathetic! I did not get the proper service for the money I spent.

 

Despite of these happenings I still look for the bright side. I would like to commend the guard (I forgot his name) because he was very helpful to the guests. I like their parking area because it is secured unlike other hotels who doesn't have a proper area for their guests. You just park your car outside, vulnerable to accident by other vehicles. Though this resort is not beach front, the beach is just a couple of minutes away. Overall, the resort was ok for me if they will improve and upgrade their facilities and equipment, but since they don't have it, I will always remember them in a negative way...
