Description
As the newly hired AIMs IHR Manager, you have now been tasked to prepare an HRM strategy for the Board of Managers, that responds to and tries to resolve the issues identified by John Hudson as soon as possible.
Please prepare a report for the board, where you:
1. Explain why ASIs is experiencing the problems reported in the Case Study (MUST: refer to strategic theory; i.e. Perlmutter’s/ Brewster’s expatriation cycle- DESIRABLE: refer to specific cultural value dimensions and to institutional frameworks) ;
2. Discuss ASIs’ current international strategy and propose any changes that maybe needed (justifying your recommendations with module theory- see above).
3. Propose a more effective expatriation/repatriation programme, underpinned by both module theory and a few company examples (reference to the stages of Brewster’s expatriation cycle will help).
4. Add an appendix with a summary table of your recommendations, in the form of action points, with an indicative timeframe for their implementation, as well as an indication of who should be in charge of implementing/monitoring the proposed changes.
Please Note: Your report needs to be informed and underpinned by academic literature throughout. Relevant examples are also important.
Recommendations need to be realistic and feasible.
