Failure Experience : Not receiving a scholarship
Choose a time when you experienced failure, either solely your own or as a
group. Describe the situation and tell whether you attempted again, why or why
not and whether you were successful. What did you learn from your failure?
What were the reasons for it? Did you discover those reasons immediately or did
they become apparent over time? We will discuss at length what constitutes
effective methods for writing about past events. But the focus here is to illustrate
(show, don’t tell) how this particular occurrence or situation has had a significant
effect on who you are today.
Need introduction paragraph which includes experience of failure, your
attitude/opinion (what you learned or the reasons for your failure), additional
background on topic (when, where, who else). Need a clear thesis statement.
