You have been hired as part of the networking team at UMUC. After completing orientation and training, your manager calls you into a meeting to discuss your first project.

The university has recently leased a building in Adelphi, Maryland. The building will house offices, classrooms, a library, and computer labs. Security is important for UMUC, as the university must protect students’ and employees’ data, as well as any intellectual property that UMUC has on its servers and computers. As a result, IT management would like to take the time to review proposals on how best to move forward on security issues. As a network engineer, you have been asked to prepare a network proposal on how to set up a secure network infrastructure in this building to support university operations.

After speaking to your manager, you are excited about the project, but you realize you will have a busy schedule. As you are writing your proposal, you will also have to prepare for the CompTIA Network+ Certification exam. One of the conditions of your employment at this university is that you obtain this certification within 60 days of being hired.

The network proposal represents a great opportunity to document your expertise. Additionally, it is also a great opportunity for you to form an integrated view of the different aspects of networking which are tested in the certification exam.

Add table of contents.
To be more concise, remove the textbook narrative that discusses the relative merits of topology, and other similar writing. You do this excessively throughout. Just stick to the network proposal, you are not teaching in your proposal.
You cannot use bus topology in your LAN proposal because no standard was ever developed to exceed 10Mbps. Redesign this totally.
You never choose a cable media, you just discuss them.
Use the building layouts supplied, see Announcements for Week 3. In fact, you will benefit much from reviewing ALL announcements.
A LOT of re-work to do here. Follow the Network Design Proposal template closely.
When ready for posting for a grade add "final" to your file name and post to both TurnItIn and LEO.

Still very wordy as in a text book. You never suggest a specific media, just talk about media. In your diagrams you show computers in every room but this is not the case. There is not network topology known as a "Tree" topology. You need to work on this. You are missing required diagrams of the building layout for 1st and 2nd floors See Announcement for Week 3.
Much work left for you to do and only 1.5 weeks left!
When ready for grading and "final" to the file name and post to both TrunItIn and LEO. Advise me by email when this is done.

Assess the need for network services to support the business or organization: Missing many network servcies required to run network. For example. DHCP. data backup. WAN servcies, and others. Go ahead and post your entire paper just post to what ever Part you want commented on/graded.
Assuming yo have a table of contents, add page numbers.
Add proposal for protection against viruses, DHCP, system & security updates.
No mention of the proposal for primary and backup WAN.
How about training personnel to alert them to security breeches?
Add physical security of some type to IT rooms.
