Environmental Decision Making
Game Theory Analysis in Political and Economic
Decision-making as it relates to the Environment
Management
Game theory is often deployed as a method of trying to predict the actions of
stakeholders in various types of situations, or games. You will be testing several of these
games in the following assignment, as it relates to a fictional water management scenario
between the United States and Mexico. After which, you will be writing a reflection on
the utility of these methods and their application. Additional readings on Game Theory
are provided at the end for reference while you write your reflection.
Types of Games:
Hawks and Doves (Chicken): You have already modeled this game in your previous
exercise, when you looked at the interaction of two separate horse populations on Sable
Island. This game is generally used to model a situation where direct conflict is possible
outcome if both parties do not cooperate.
