|
A* 80+% (IELTS 7.5+ CEF C2) |
Work at A* level has addressed all the criteria
of an A grade and, in addition, is characterised by an outstanding level of
accuracy and an original, critical perspective. |
||||
A 70-79% (IELTS 7.0 CEF C1) |
The log is complete and well presented (1 lecture with preparation, notes,
summary, questions, sources, links to other sources and vocabulary). |
Evidence of effective relevant pre
-reading and prediction of topics and vocabulary that may arise. Pertinent vocabulary identified and
recorded usefully |
Notes taken are accurate and demonstrate
in depth understanding and critical thinking New
or key lexical items/phrases are noted along with any contextual clues
and or collocations |
All questions arising from the lecture are
followed up including new lexical items which are recorded in detail. Post lecture questions are highly relevant
and useful and may show links to other sources |
|
B 60-69% (IELTS 6.5 CEF B2/C1) |
The log is complete (1 lecture with preparation, notes,
summary, questions, sources, links to other sources and vocabulary). |
Useful choice of pre reading for
preparation Plausibly useful vocabulary identified and
recorded |
Notes are generally accurate with most
main ideas and supporting evidence included.
Understanding is very good. An appropriate number of relevant lexical
items have been noted. |
Questions and new lexis arising from the
lecture are followed up sufficiently Lexis is selected and recorded effectively Post lecture questions are relevant and
useful. |
|
C 50-59% (IELTS 6.0 CEF B2) |
The log is generally complete (1 lecture
with preparation, notes, summary, questions, sources, links to other sources
and vocabulary). |
Adequate selection of pre reading text for
ideas Lexis selected is mostly useful. |
Notes identify most key ideas and some
supporting information. Understanding is generally good. A
generally appropriate number of mostly relevant lexical items have been
noted. |
Evidence of following up ideas and lexis
arising from lecture to check understanding Lexis recorded with reasonably sufficient detail for
future use Some relevant post lecture questions. |
|
D 40-49% (IELTS 5.5 CEF B2) |
The log is generally complete (1 lecture with preparation, notes,
summary, questions, sources, links to other sources and vocabulary), with
minor aspects missing. |
Little evidence of preparation for the
lecture or it is mostly irrelevant Some lexical items noted , but not useful |
Notes identify some key ideas and some
supporting information. Understanding is generally quite good, but
with some misunderstanding or omissions at times. Lexical items noted are mostly relevant
but lacking in number |
Little evidence of follow up on
questions/lexis arising in lecture Lexis that is recorded may lack useful detail and or method Post lecture questions may not be entirely
relevant or useful. |
|
E 35-39% IEETS 5.0 CEF B1) |
The log has several sections missing. |
Minimal and ineffective preparation |
Notes omit some key points and many
supporting ideas with limited understanding demonstrated Few and mostly irrelevant lexical items
