Growing up as a youth in Chicago, Illinois sports and
cheering for our team’s lives in your blood and traditions and team loyalty
remains a serious business. Baseball fans are the most loyal fans of them all,
and lines are drawn and teams sometimes cross the line of integrity and fair
play, they cheat to win the championship. Major League Baseball continues to
lead the way with decades of corruptions.
The year, 1919 and the Chicago White Sox were heavily favorites to win
the World Series, the championship of baseball. Chicago lost to the Cincinnati
Red Sox; an investigation determined that seven Chicago’s players fixed the
game so Cincinnati would win and causing baseball fans to rename the team the

Modern day baseball is currently dealing with a colossal
scandal that questions the integrity of Americans favorite pastime, the current
humiliation to the game has rocked the baseball and sports community. ESPN.com
reported that the Houston Astros used technology to steal rivals baseball
signals to give themselves an unfair advantage and help them win the World
Series. The investigation and fallout is still brewing even though several of
the accused perpetrators were suspended and many face possible lifetime
suspensions from the game of baseball. The destruction and ripple effect will
affect numerous entities that depend on the integrity and prosperity of Major
League Baseball.
Sponsors who invest millions of dollars to have their
products name associated with a professional sports team. Recently Major League
Baseball (MLB) parted ways with Pepsi as the official soft drink and canceled a
