I know my resignation from the University and quick departure from Australia was a surprise to you and my other friends. It is difficult at this early stage to see what my future will bring but for the moment I am happy I have found this beautiful Indonesian island. Lompok Island is so peaceful and relaxing that I have no immediate plans to leave here in a hurry. I fact, I have recently applied to the Indonesian Government for a one-year temporary resident visa. This should allow me some breathing space in which to sort out my future.
