I need help to write a detailed critical essay on the film "The Pursuit of Happiness" directed by Gabriele Muccino. The question the thesis and topic sentences needs to answer is To what degree can an individual's choices and actions influence the direction of his or her life?". I would like to use the main character, Christopher Gardner. The essay needs to use specific quotes, imagery, film techniques represented in the film to support the essay. As this is the final assignment for English 30 it has to be very detailed and precise. Below attached is the rubric and an assignment I have done which represents some of the ideas I have regarding this question and film. I feel that I lack detail and support, a variety of sentence structure, sophisticated use of wording. At the same time, I struggle with creating 3 separate distinct topic sentences with specific strong detail supports from the movie.
