Introduce the client company
Introduce the Information Technology supplier (internal IT team or vendor)
State the business goal or a problem to be solved:
Enable a new product or service?
Fix a broken process?
Eliminate redundant work?
Automate an existing process?
Produce new information for better decision-making and control of the business?
Offer a technology that will help achieve the goal or solve the problem
Describe the impact of the technology implementation on the business
Refer to IT research, competitive analysis and industry sources
Once the proposal is approved, it can be reused as the introduction to the paper - an “Executive
Summary”.
