Importance of setting up a secure network

computer science

Description

Now that you have gotten this far, it is time to decide where do you want to watch and have greater control of the traffic moving across your network. Where is it most important? Is there such a thing? Why is one area on your network more important than another? Or is it?

You will learn new ways to watch traffic (and to control traffic if needed) during this phase of your project.

Week 4: Part 4

This week for your project, you will be adding to your network and turning in your rough draft of your project. Your submission this week will also include an explanation of the importance of setting up a secure network.

Directions: Your tasks for this week are to:

  • Update the diagram you created in Unit 3 to include the new components from the linked image below.
  • DownloadPhase 4 of the Diagram.
  • Identify the areas of the network diagram. See diagram for specific area(s).
  • Label any new components that are listed in your diagram. Describe why the components are placed in that specific location.
  • Label network IDs.
  • Continue to identify the cost, pros, and cons of the components in your network.
  • Update your legend.
  • At the bottom of your diagram, list any sources you used to help with your research usingAPA citation (Links to an external site.).
  • In a one to two page Word document, explain the importance of setting up a secure network. What are the basic concepts of setting up a secure network? Would you use more IDS and IPS devices than listed? Explain why or why not.
