In recent years several researchers have started studying how emotion and sentiment are expressed in Software Engineering. To determine whether emotion and sentiment is present in text a large variety of different tools has been used (for instance: NLTK VADER, SentiStrength, SentiStrength-SE, Senti4SD, SentiCR). Each tool has it own strengths and weaknesses of course, and there have also been several studies to understand how these tools differ from each other. Their findings have been twofold:
