In this paper you will use information from classroom presentations, the material posted in the Change Management Moodle (Portal) and if possible chapter 3 Organizational Change from Making Sense of Change Management: A Complete Guide to the Models, Tools and Techniques of Organizational Change by Cameron & Green.
1. INTRODUCTION (500 words): Introduce what you are planning to show with a table that compares and contrasts the following models of change management (how are they similar and how are they different). Explain the reason you are using the measures in the top line (whatever they might be). Why are they important in your informed view?
a) Kotter’s 8-steps
b) Bridges’ Transition model
c) McKinsey 7S model
d) Lewin’s 3-step model
e) Nadler-Teshman Congruence model, and
f) Prosci ADKAR model.
Here is one example of the type of table you can use. But please consider OTHER headings from your class learning, critical thinking about change, and your experiences. You must justify what you choose to use.
As you review the models simply put a check mark into a cell on the table to illustrate that the specific model has the characteristics in the top line.
2. ANALYSIS (600 words): Now briefly explain (using bullet paragraphs if you can) why you made the decisions you made in the table. What is so different about the models and what is so similar?
3. CRITICAL THINKING (800 words): Imagine yourself in a workplace that is bringing in a form of change (think of any example you want). Which of the change models, or a combination of different parts of each model, would you like to see affecting your job? Why is that?
OR
Use a real life example from a workplace you have been in if possible or a story you know well. Very briefly explain why in your opinion the change was successful and why it was not.
4. Use at least eight references including Cameron & Green if you can, in APA style, to support your paper. It is okay to go to the various web sites of the organization’s representing the change models but do not simply cut and paste information (I will know). There are many resources on our Change Management Moodle site.
