OBJECTIVES:
To design a Needs Assessment for all students for the 4 positions in the Dining Room
DESCRIPTION:
In your assigned groups, your team will design a Needs Assessment Plan and perform a skills assessment for each member of the group based on the positions of Host, Bartender, Food Runner and Server. Self-checklists can be found in the CIC binder.
Criteria for the Needs Assessment:
Write an objective – What is the purpose, why is this necessary?
Identify the audience – members of your group
Pick an instrument – method of assessing the skills
Analyze data
You are required to submit results in a way that a trainer outside of your group will be able to read the report and determine what to focus on in a training session. Please use the following categories:
Proficient 80% - 100%
Developing 60% - 79%
Needs Improvement 59% and below
Upon completion of this please ensure that each group member is giving a ranking number for each position, 1 being the position the student feels is their strongest and 4 being the position they need the most improvement in.
Please note that your results will become the road map that the instructor will use for training and scheduling in the Dining Room class. The whole group is responsible for honest and accurate assessments, of themselves and the others in their group.
