Japanese Film and History class The answer to each question should be crafted as an essay. Do not waste space on restating the question or using it as your opening sentence. Sources: Only lecture notes and articles that I've attached. Citations are required only for direct quotes-- format (Author's last name, pg#) these should be kept to a minimum. No need to quote directly from or cite lectures. Questions: Analyze four of the characters in “Lorelai” in terms of the relevant genres/sub-genres we have covered in class: “spiritist films,” “humanist films,” “combat films,” re-imagined histories. For each character find a counterpart character in one of the other films assigned for or seen in class and explain the similarities and/or differences between the two. Origasa is a Young mini sub pilot - spiritual struggle to discover what makes them Japanese.
