KLU KLUX KLAN – TERRORIST GROUP 1
Abstract
We first have to ask ourselves, “Can a well-known hate group that originated in 1866 still
exist in America?” With all the laws and amendments we have, the Klu Klux Klan (KKK) does
exist and is very active in the United States.
When you think about the word ‘terrorism’ you
instantly think about foreign countries and war, not realizing that there is terrorism and war right
here in our faces. There are many definitions of terrorism but it can be mainly described as “the
use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims or social objectives” (Taylor, R.
& Swanson, C. 2016). Members of the Klu Klux Klan are our law enforcement officials and also
our government officials. Throughout my writing assignment I will provide different reasons as
to why I believe the Klu Klux Klan is a terrorist group.
