“Mala in se” (the particular is “malum in se”) is an expression that indicates crime that is viewed as wrong all by itself. Crimes mala in se is not their seriousness, but rather that the community feels they are morally wrong all by themselves, as well as involve no external motivations to demonstrate or legitimize their misleading quality.
