Assessment Requirements
The assignment aims to assess
your ability to:
a)
Select an appropriate job
which is a good fit for your skill set
b) Seek and use feedback as appropriate in order to produce a good quality
job application in the form of a CV and covering letter
You are required to select a UK placement advert (from InPlace or
elsewhere) which you believe to be a good match to your skills and interests,
and to engage with the feedback opportunities available in order to produce a
standard CV and a covering letter targeted to the placement.

Note: This is not a “normal” piece of coursework.
You are strongly encouraged to get as much help and advice as you need to
produce your CV and letter.

You will be assessed on your ability to select an appropriate placement
advert, the quality of your application, and your engagement with the module
(including use of feedback opportunities).

Summative (after you’ve
submitted the coursework)
You will receive specific feedback regarding your
coursework submission together with your awarded grade when it is returned to
you.
Moderation
All assessments are subject to a two-stage moderation process. Firstly,
any details related to the assessment (e.g., clarity of information and the
assessment criteria) are considered by an independent person (usually a member
of the module team). Secondly, the grades awarded are considered by the module
team to check for consistency and fairness across the cohort for the piece of
work submitted.
Aspects for Professional Development Portfolio
Much of the work completed for this module will contribute directly to
future job applications e.g. by the time you have completed this module you
should be competent at producing CVs and covering letters.
