“OLTP (On-line Transaction Processing)” is described by an extensive number of short on-line exchanges (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE). “OLAP (On-line Analytical Processing)’ is described by moderately low volume of exchanges. Queries are regularly extremely complex and include accumulations. In “OLTP” database there is point by point and current information, and pattern used to store value-based databases is the element model (generally 3NF). In “OLAP” database there is collected, recorded information, put away in multi-dimensional patterns (usually star schema).
