our Final Essay Examination will consist of four essay questions that you must answer to the best of your ability. You are permitted to use your text; however, you are also encouraged to draw from other resources and experiences in crafting your answers, where appropriate. For each question, your answer must state your thesis and be supported with detailed information, including dates, specific examples, and material from your reading. Your conclusions should follow logically from the information you have presented. Any quotations, specific information, and ideas drawn from your reading must be cited and referenced in APA format. Each essay should be approximately 2 pages (500 words) in length, not including references. All societies use gender as a means of stratification. Discuss the consequences of this gender stratification. Distinguish the difference between "race" and "ethnicity," and give an example of each. Summarize the U.S. social class ladder as proposed by Joseph Kahl and Dennis Gilbert. Discuss how marriage and family are viewed from the three sociological perspectives. Compose your work using a word processor (or other software as appropriate) and save it frequently to your computer.
