RECIDIVISM AND CORRECTIONS PROGRAMS STUDY
In 2008 the Second Chance Act was signed into law which was designed to improve the outcome
of those individual that were incarcerated and who were to be released back into society (Davis,
Bozick, Steele, Saunders, & Miles, 2013). However, in 2010 funding were set aside to conducted
a comprehensive study of the correctional education programs within prisons system by
reviewing scientific literature as well as conducting a meta-analysis in order to synthesize the
finding for multiple studies that has already taken place of how effective are the correctional
educational program (Davis, Bozick, Steele, Saunders, & Miles, 2013). This research will be
critical in analysis of research question that was purposed and provide supporting evidence for
key points of the topic of research in this paper.
