Answer all the following questions,
using the suggested data which is the most recently available wave of the
survey used by the authors of this assigned paper:
1.
Replicate
two of the graphs included in the paper for Egypt only. It may be a good idea
to choose the graph that may help you to better explain your regression results
in question 2. (4 points)
2.
Replicate
any of the two models included in the assigned paper. It is expected that you
would be able to exactly reproduce all the variables used in the model with the
same sample conditions. If for any reason you cannot reproduce some of the
variables, explain why and suggest similar others to include if possible. Compare
your results to that included in the paper. If any discrepancy (regarding the
sign and significance) exists, explain in your opinion what may be the main causes
behind such discrepancy. (10 points:
do file and results)
3.
Interpret
the results of your produced models in detail in your own words, as if you are
writing a result section of this paper (i.e. not in bullet points format). If
you do not agree with any of the arguments provided in the authors discussion
explain why providing your own alternative argument. (8 points)
4.
Discuss
any policy implications you may think of based on your results. (2 points)
5.
Are
you worried about any potential econometrics problem that may exists in any of
the models included in the paper? Explain in details providing a suggestion on how
you may solve such a problem using the same data or assuming that you have
access to other data sources. Write the model you suggest in an equation form
as well as in Stata language. (2 points)
6.
If
you have easy access to all the needed data at hand estimate your suggested
model in 5 and interpret its results as compared to those discussed in 2.
Otherwise, explain why cannot you do so. (2 points)
7.
Provide
any remaining suggestions you may have on how the paper overall may be
advanced. (2 points)
After I know the price I will send the stata dataset needed and all needed material
