DSFSS ELECTRONIC SECURITY –  PROJECT ASSIGNMENT NO. 1

 

 

1             Students are required to prepare a security protection plan for a proposed development based on the current security environment.

 

2             This is an individual project assignment.

 

3             A description of the project assignment is attached - See Annex A & B (site layout plan).

 

4             A total of 2 sessions have been allocated for this security project assignment. In the 1st session, students will be briefed on the project requirements. A 2nd session (Monday 8 Jun 20) is allocated to provide an opportunity for students to clarify any points they may have encountered while preparing for the project submission.

 

5             A written report submission of a word limit of 3500 words is required. The submission date is 29 Jun 20.

(Note: Marks will be deducted for late submission).

 

6             A project carries a weightage of 40 marks (40%) as part of overall assessment of this subject.

 

7             A list of the project assignment rules is attached for strict compliance by the students.

DSFSS ELECTRONIC SECURITY – PROJECT ASSIGNMENT NO.1

 

1     An International Bank is proposing to construct a new Priority Bank at Tengah. It is a single storey building consisting of Bank teller counters, Bank office and Bank Vault.

 

2     The facility is surrounded by Office buildings, High Embankment Slope and Over Grown Vegetation & Open Field. The facility will operate from 0900-1500hrs and closed during Saturdays and Sundays. The facility is manned only during working hours.    

 

3     The layout for the building has been confirmed by client with the following physical measures and manpower deployment:

 

a     Welded Mesh Perimeter Fence.

 

b     One security guard during office hours.

 

4     Students are required to design the External and Internal Intrusion Detection System (Ext & Int IDS) for this new facility.

 

5     The Ext & Int IDS design should be based on the following threats identified:

 

a     Internal Threats – Internal Theft, Arson, Vandalism, Sabotage, Theft of confidential information and Cyber.

b     External Threats – Intrusion, Theft, Arson, Vandalism, Sabotage, Theft of confidential information and Cyber.

c      High Level Threat – Vehicle Ramming into facility.

 

6     You are required to carry out a risk assessment based on the above mentioned threats.

 

 

 

 

7     The project assignment should include:

 

a     A description of proposed Ext & Int IDS design based on Protection in Depth and surrounding environment.

b     Objective and functions of each proposed device.

c      Location of all proposed devices.

 

8     Project Report Format: -
