The homeland security in the United States comes under the Department of Homeland Security. It is similar to the Home Ministries in other countries. It’s a cabinet department of the federal government with the responsibilities of public security, border security, combating terrorism, immigration and customs, cyber security and disaster prevention and management. Before September 11, 2001, this “Homeland Security” had a different name which was “Civil Defense”.
