R1: Is there a relationship between perceived barriers and career progression of African American women college students?

R2: Is there a relationship between coping skills and career progression of African American women college students?

R3: Is there a relationship between the combined effect of barriers and coping skills to career progression among African American women college students.

Hypotheses:

H1a: There is a significant relationship between perceived barriers and career progression of African American women college students

H1o: There is not a significant relationship perceived barriers and career progression of African American women college student

H2a: There is a significant relationship between coping skills and career progression of African American women college students 

H2o: There is not a significant relationship between coping skills and career progression of African American women college student

H3a: There is a significant relationship between the combined effect of barriers and coping skills to career progression among African American women college students 

H3o: There is not a significant relationship between the combined effect of barriers and coping skills to career progression among African American women college students

Methodology and design: This study will use a Quantitative Methodology with a Correlation Design 

Purpose statement: The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to develop an understanding of the relationships between barriers and coping skills to career progression among African American women college students in the southeastern region of the United States

Data collection

Independent variable: Level of career progression of African American women college students.

Dependent variable:  Perceived barriers to the career progression of African American women college students.
