Project/Thesis Synopsis
The e-healthcare system
development project mainly deals with developing a non-intrusive, low-cost
medicinal information system for usage in local healthcare centers and
hospitals, in mandate to support both patients and healthcare staffs. The key
rationale I am planning for this development project in CISC 699 course is that
it had been turned out to be pretty evident on my visits to nearby healthcare
services (clinic) that an information system (automated) required to be
executed to inform cumbersome paper-based schemes presently in usage in maximum
clinics in my city. The usage of open-source innovation has permitted us to
create this information system at very minute cost henceforth benefiting the
community. I am divided this system development project into 3 key or
manageable segments (features). For example,
·
The collection of ECG information (electrocardiogram)
with the usage of Bluetooth sensors and demonstrating the outcomes on a PDA
(Personal Digital Assistants).
·
Keeping this information safely in a
peer-to-peer data network.
·
Developing a web-based system interface for
a patient records management information system that can make and handle
patient data and show ECG readings led through the peer-to-peer data network.
However, this project
thesis will mainly deal with the third feature for example, the patient records
management system. It will be considered as a major portion of our applied
project since it is the main interface (external) that maximum of the key
stakeholders or users of this system will collaborate and interact with. While
exploring for the applied project, I have learned about the HCI concepts since
the nature of our applied project is mainly an HCI-based usability system
project that is emphasized towards the emerging domain. Therefore,
comprehensive investigations using the prospective clients of the information
system will happen and they will be primarily involved all through the
project’s lifespan or development.
