General instructions

Read the Tasks carefully and ask if you are unsure of what you are expected to deliver.

Questions  - will be answered via a discussion thread in the Coursework Questions

Anonymity of work

All work must be submitted anonymously. You should therefore ensure that you do not include your name anywhere on your work, either in the main body of your report, the appendix, or in any headers or footers. Use your Student ID number only.

Note 1

You have chosen a company / sole trader / club to build a website for your WebMDDL module. Please use that website client (company / sole trader / club ) as a basis for your answer.

Link to portfolio WebMD DLfind yourself a client. There are many small businesses/organisations out there who won't say 'no' to a free website. Do you know a band who would appreciate a site? A charity shop? Family restaurant? Church? Local society or group? etc ….... “

Note 2

If your website client is a single person, you may find it difficult to answer this task for them. If this is the case, you may choose another (smallish) company or department of a company that you are familiar with - maybe one that you work for or another company that you have dealt with.
If you wish to do this your MUST inform Kathy (
kathy.parker@port.ac.uk) stating why your website client is not suitable and what company you wish to use and why.
Please Note: Generic or theoretical answers will result in zero marks for that task.

The Deliverable

The deliverable is a written (business style) report for the management of your website client containing the elements 2 to 6  in the table above. Task 1 will be in the Moodle discussion forum.

The word limit GUIDELINE is 2,000 words +/- 10%. You should divide this between the questions using the % of the question mark as a guide to how much is expected per section.

However, this is only a guide, as marks are allocated for good content, clarity of expression and pertinent facts. If you write 900 words of repetitive or irrelevant information you will not get good marks!

REFERENCING

Every resource you use must be correctly referenced, in accordance with the Harvard guidelines APA 6th ed (UoP policy). If you use a resource and don’t mention it, you are liable to face the UoP disciplinary process on a plagiarism rap; this can result in exclusion from the University.

If your work is significantly similar to another person’s I will have to act in accordance with the University’s regulations. However, talking about this coursework with your friends/study group should not result in your work being identical to theirs.
