Dietary Analysis (50 pts)
Purpose
The
intention of this assignment is to give you a chance to analyze your current
dietary behaviors and determine how you are meeting you bodies dietary needs.
Background
Have
you ever heard the saying “you are what you eat”? If you eat a vibrant diet that is full of
life and nutrients you too should be vibrant and full of life. Where as if you eat a diet that is dead,
mono-colored and missing some very vital nutrients you too will be dull, and
working your way towards deaths door a lot sooner. Traditionally food was used as medicine, the
father of modern medicine Hippocrates once said “ let thy food be thy medicine
and thy medicine be thy food,” it is from this perspective that we should all
be re-examining our current dietary behaviors.
Some foods like cured meats increase the risk of developing cancer where
as eating ripe fruits and veggies boost or immunity by increasing the amount of
antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that we are consuming.
