1.Introduction
The objective of this report is to investigate a possible relationship between occupational class and the acquisition of cultural capital using quantitative research. This report will look closely at the steps taken throughout the research from the formation of a hypothesis, to the research method and the results it found that either confirm or deny the hypothesis.
2. Quantitative Method
The research method used to conduct our research into the relationship between social class and cultural capital was all quantitative research. Quantitative research is often used in social science to test theories and hypothesis’s as quantitative data can either prove or disprove.
3.Literature Review
Occupational social class is social class based upon a person’s occupation.
4.The research Hypothesis and Survey Questions
Up to the age of 18, class 5-8 students were more likely to shop in mainstream supermarket chains than students in class 1-3.
5. Results of our research
To gather our results, we used a data program called SPSS which worked out our numeric results quickly and efficiently and displayed them through graphs and tables
