both of the following. Each prompt is worth a maximum of 5 points on your course exam score.

Essay #1: Do you think poor/ developing countries should continue to burn coal moving forward to
continue fast economic development, even if it worsens the effects of climate change?
Your essay must include:
- Do you agree or disagree with Bjorn Lomborg’s opinion?
- Respond to at least one story in “Years of Living Dangerously” to support your opinion.
Essay #2: Do you think that series/documentaries such as “Before the Flood” and “Years of Living
Dangerously” are effective ways to engage and motivate the public to support action on climate
change?
Your essay must include:
- Were these documentaries effective in tone and content?
- In your opinion, was “Before the Flood” or “Years of Living Dangerously” more impactful in affecting your opinions about Climate Change? Why?
- What were some of the most powerful examples raised in either documentary? You must include examples from both.
- Do you think that there is a risk that either or both documentaries could make some people less motivated to support action on climate change? Discuss.
**There is no “right” answer. Provide your opinion and defend it. Each essay should be 1-2 typed,
single-spaced pages. You do not need to complete both essays, but you are welcome to for the
maximum credit opportunity.
