The principal goal of this report is to plan and suggest a successful planning methodology to the organisation to improve information system and to constructively change the current methodology.  In this outline, some of the more popular methodologies were examined in brief with their advantages and disadvantages by adopting them. Evaluation of methodologies is carried out with the help of matrix evaluation.

 

Scope of the project

The Jhon Wiley information technology infrastructure, is a company operating since 25 years and undertakes IT related projects worth up to $250 million. Right now 60 executive staff were working on the projects from beginning to accomplishment stage and remit the project. Forthwith, the PMIS system in use. This current information system was scanty to manage the projects effectively and effectively. Thus, the company have decided to shred this methodology and replace with the new information system for the future.

 

The main aim and objective of this project is to develop an information system which can be replaced with the current one and must be capable to perform both current and future projects.

Alternative planning methodologies and techniques

There are various methodologies to select from, individual with own set of rules, principles, processes, and practices. Selection of methodology depends on the type of project you undergo and to maximize the use of resource and time. As there are many methodologies, there is no right methodology to choose for all every projects. Fundamentally, the ultimate methodology is what make sense for project, team, and client.
