Description
EXCLUSIONS: The word limit does not
include coursework title or module name and number. Footnotes or appendices used
for reference only, or merely to provide further reference
information to support a point fully argued in the main text, are also
excluded. Any use of footnotes
to avoid the word limit by including within the text of the footnote
argument or comment which should appear in the main body of the work will
be disregarded by the marker. Appendices should contain only reference
materials illustrating and supporting arguments made in the main body of
the work. Any other materials included in appendices, except where
specifically requested in the coursework instructions, will not be marked.
Do include a full bibliography (this is also excluded from the word
limit).
FORMAT:
All work should be word processed in 12 point font Times New
Roman or Arial and double spaced. You MUST
certify the number of words used in the assignment. Work should be submitted with a coursework front sheet attached..
PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE:
Word Limit Penalties
- If the word
limit is exceeded then the total mark available will be reduced by ten percent
of the available mark EVEN IF THE
WORK IS ONLY ONE WORD OVER THE WORD LIMIT.
- Failure to
self-certify will result in a deduction of ten percent of the available
mark.
A MAXIMUM OF ONE OF THE ABOVE PENALTIES RELATING TO THE WORD
LIMIT WILL BE APPLIED
- Inaccurate
self-certification will result in a further reduction of ten percent of
the available mark, where the certification amounts to a claim that the
work is within the word limit and in fact it is not.
