This is an open ended exam requesting each student to design a hybrid routing protocol and document the design process and reasoning. You can and encouraged to use any book, note and publication while you are responding to this exam. Description of the Problem:
In class, we studied a cluster tree topology network rooted from a single node named as root. The
network we studied created a backbone created by nodes named as ClusterHeads. All other nodes were
connected or managed by one or more ClusterHead. The root node was assigned an address of 01:254
(01 is the network ID and 254 is the node ID). The root node was charged with the task of assigning node
addresses to nodes in its single hop neighborhood and network addresses to nodes promoted to the
ClusterHead role. ClusterHeads act as a coordinator to the nodes that are in their single hop neighborhood
and signed up to this network. They assign addresses to the nodes that are in their clusters. In addition
ClusterHeads may be charged with a routing tasks.
