Description

This project involves modelling of a regular four storey RC perimeter frame buildings. You are to work in groups of no more than two persons to analyse a defined building configurations. The sketch on the right shows a 4-storey concrete ‘perimeter frame’ office building employing a single moment-resisting bay in each of the perimeter walls. All other internal and external framing are designed to carry only gravity loading and all beams outside the braced bays can be considered pin-ended. Precast floor slabs at each level act as diaphragms and deliver all horizontal loading (wind and earthquake) to the braced bays in the perimeter frame. Assume the floor slabs themselves do not contribute to lateral stiffness. Hence you are to consider vertical load case only.
