HIPAA Case Examples & Resolution Agreements
Visit the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services website on HIPAA and navigate to the Enforcement Activities & Results, Case Examples & Resolution Agreements site for some examples. Under Resolution Agreements choose any one of the resolution agreement articles/links for this assignment.
You are to create a brief PowerPoint presentation on one of the resolution agreements. The PowerPoint should include the following information:
- Name of the healthcare provider or facility
- Type of violation that occurred
- What the OCR investigation determined
- The outcome of the investigation or audit
- Fines or penalties against the provider or facility
- How the provider or facility corrected the identified violation
- Education provided to the workforce of the provider or facility
You will need a minimum of five slides with speaker notes not including the title slide. This assignment can be turned into the assignment link.
There are providers and healthcare organizations that are found in violation of HIPAA privacy or security laws based on complaints or audit activities.
