Below I have attached the guidelines and rubric for this paper. The paper I wrote is titled "Vivev La Gentrification, however, there are components that my paper lacked. The following are the key points that my professor advised in order to complete this paper. I have also attached a sample essay that was provided by our professor as well to get an idea of what she is looking for. Please include a work cited page that includes all the references. THE PAPER THAT NEEDS WORK ON IS "VIVE LA GENTRIFICATION"

Regarding Essay #3, you have a strong start but lack clarity and adequate discussion of solution(s) which should consume from 30-50% of the paper. Here are my suggestions:

1) Reread the assignment carefully.  Check off if you have delivered all elements.  For example, you have not included a reference page, outline, or cover page. I have included the peer review rubric to aid this process. 

2) Clarify the problem.  Is it lack of integration or failure(s) of gentrification? Why is this problem critical, urgent?  Use the Brainstorm/Worksheet included in the assignment packet as a guide.  
3) Propose a solution to whichever problem you are trying to solve.  Put it is a "steps to take" context, not a vague recommendation such as, "awareness is needed"  If you are endorsing a legislation bill or someone else's approach, then specifically state so.  

4) Include the scope of the problem.  Crime statistics do not show how many neighborhoods are being gentrified or the number of neighborhoods that are not integrated.  What is the national dimension to this problem?  How does Chicago compare to other large urban areas? 

5) Avoid meta-commentary and 1st person voice, such as "let's discuss" or "I have said..."  Stay objective.
