The authority of God’s will is beyond questions. The only possible controversy comes from the human interpretation of God’s commands. These differences in interpretation are the source of most religious strife. Religious ethics is broader that Judeo-Christion ethics. There are religions such as Buddhism, Confucianism, and Islam that provide a basis for ethics because they offer the explanation on how to live a “good life”. Many religions have their own version of the Ten Commandments. The “Golden Rule” predates Christianity and can be found in all major religions. Christianity- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. All major religions have a different wording. To summarize, the religious ethics system is widely used and accepted. The authority of the god figure is the root of all morality; basic conceptions of good an evil or right and wrong come from interpretations of the god figure’s will.
