Write reflection papers using essay form. Your personal opinion is important. The purpose of each reflection paper in the journal is to inform me as to your learning---what you felt was important/unimportant and why, what you liked/disliked and why, et cetera. It should reflect your thinking and evaluating skills. Tell what you learned based on the weekly activities from which the reflection paper is to be written. What key insights, new thoughts, new ways of viewing organizations and your role in them did you learn from the activity? Describe what you felt (that is, what you liked/disliked)! What happened that made a difference for you. Reflection papers will be based on the activities from the weekly material. In some cases, the weekly journal will reflect specific cases and readings as well as the overall weekly activities. Keep a draft when you read the materials, view the slides and view the movie clips, discussions and then carry it on through the week.
Convert this draft to a formal document later on in the week. The format may be more like a journal entry and be less formal. These papers will truly show me what you are learning and applying from the course. Two-three pages maximum! We will do 15 reflection papers during the semester that are based on class assignments (see syllabus). Weekly reflections are due in a single journal format no later than the last day of the semester. The label you will use for your journal is your last name + weekly journal (weekly journal.docx). Note: The attached example is to show what a journal might look like. It is from another course so the content will be different.
