Description

Finance for Managers: Assignment Spring 2020

This is an individual assignment.  The word count is 1,200 words with a 10% margin.

You first need to choose a company for the analysis.  I have checked that all the necessary data for the ratios I would like you to calculate is available on the companies on the spreadsheet on the assignment tab.  It may be that an additional year is added after I checked so if any of the data below is missing please choose the previous two years for the analysis.  If there is a UK public limited company that you would particularly like to analyse but it isn’t on the spreadsheet it is your responsibility to check that all the data is available for that company and let me know the name of the company.

Only one person can analyse each company, so it is based on a first come first served basis.  Please email me the first, second and third choice of company you would like to analyse I will change the colour of the font to red, showing that company is no longer available so please check the colour hasn’t been changed before emailing me.

You then need to access the companies’ financial statements.  A simplified version is available via the database Amadeus which is available to you after signing in with your university details.  Search for Amadeus in the university catalogue

https://www.bangor.ac.uk/library/index.php.en

search for Amadeus

and choose the Amadeus database, online access

Then click on Resource available at amadeus

Log in using your university details

Then enter your company name.

Select the worksheet view at the top of the Global standard format section, you can then open the file in excel.

Please compute the ratios yourself rather use than the ones provided.  Do not worry if yours are different.
